A Puppy Called Puberty

I heard this last night on radio 4, read by Andrew Marr. It amused me. It was like keeping a puppy in your underpants A secret puppy you weren’t allowed to show to anyone Not even your best friend or your worst enemy You wanted to pat him, stroke him, cuddle him All the time you weren’t supposed to touch him. He only slept for five minutes at a time Then he’d suddenly perk up his head In the middle of school medical inspection And always on bus rides. So you had to climb down from the upper deck All bent double to smuggle the puppy off the bus Without the buxon conductress spotting Your wicked and ticketless stowaway. Jumping up, wet-nosed, eagerly wagging- He only stopped being a nuisance When you were alone together Pretending to be doing your homework But really gazing at each other Through hot and laxy daydreams. Of those beautiful schoolgirls on the bus With kittens bouncing in their sweaters. By Adrian Mitchell

Fascist

Someone, charmingly called fascist45 and with a rather limited grasp of spelling, has just left (midly abusive) comments on four of my pictures on flickr. The pictures were taken at a recent-ish Stop the BNP demonstration and feature evidence of a gay presence within the ranks of the demonstrator. Visiting my new friend’s profile is fairly amusing (it features picture of “the leader”, Nick Griffin, someone (presumably said new friend) dressed up as a soldier and evincing nostalgia for “nam” and “dad’s army” and a picture of one Kate Garaway (who seems to be a c’leb) putting the emphasis on her “boobs”. However this person’s favorite picture (gleaned around flickr) seem to be the true gateway to their nasty little mind: women in various stages of undress. Someone needs a good shag, methinks. I am midly amused. Interestingly, he did not comment on the picture illustrating this post.

'ave a Cuppa

I think it's official. I have been in this country too long. Having spent that after unsuccessfully shopping for various item I fancy I need and having been stuck in traffic on various buses, I get home and what do I do? I make myself a nice cup of tea (earl grey, milk, one sugar, thank you), take out a bit of cake and have a sit down... Oh dear! I blame my colleague at work. They make me drink tea several times a day and I have a feeling the stuff is addictive. Forget about classification for cannabis and ecstasy, they should look at tea! (thanks to openbyhand for the pic)

God Will Probably Hate Me Even More

"A small religious community from Kansas, notorious for picketing funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq have said they are to protest in England. The Westboro Baptist Church is led by Rev Fred Phelps. Among the events on the 'picket schedule' on their website godhatesfags.com is a performance of The Laramie Project in Basingstoke next week." This is a quote from this article on PinkNews whom I alerted to the story last night. I found out about it on a social site. I also got in touch with my MP (bi-tastic Simon Hughes). I am curious to see what sort of response I will get to this. More importantly I talked to my local LGBT Liaison Police Officer. He passed the info to the Hampshire Police force who didn't know about it! They have been in touch with the school to make sure nothing untoward has happened so far and will now have people at the ready during the run of the show. He also went to the Met's Diversity Directorate who are looking into the possibility of

As Grace

Another picture reconstruction. This time the victim is Grace Jones and her picture by Jean Paul Goude (explained here ) which was used for the cover of her 1985 compilation album, Island Life . Unlike Ms Jones, though, this is all me posing. No reconstruction other than adding the original background and props in Photoshop. See the making-of picture of my version here . Below is another, more elaborate reconstruction of the pic done with the help of photographers Jasmin Teer (photography) and Dan Bosworth (Photoshop) in July 2009. This pic was "The Awesome" in The Goude, The Bad and The Awesome (March 2010).
